I've offered a bunch of power tips to customize the contents of your OS X Dock: Adding spaces between applications, for example, or adding recently-added apps and documents. If you went overboard, however, and your Dock is now far too disorderly for your tastes, here's how to reset it.
May 20, 2019 In Microsoft Outlook 2016 for Mac running on Mac OS X Yosemite (10.10) or later versions, you cannot set Outlook as the default application. In Outlook Preferences, under General, you enable the Make Outlook the default application for e-mail, calendar, and contacts option. However, when you check the general preferences again, this option is not enabled. I just hit a nasty bug in Calendar.app and Reminders.app on Yosemite. For some reason, calendars also appear in Reminders.app as empty reminder lists and reminder lists also appear in Calendar.app as empty Calendars. Even if I delete all of my calendars and reminder lists (I've got them all backed up), they get created back again.
Even if you haven't heavily customized your Dock using Terminal commands, this week's power tip can come in handy. Because this won't just get rid of Terminal customizations. It'll reset your Dock to its default settings, just like when you first took your Mac out of the box. Default apps will be restored to their standard locations, and preferences like magnification, hiding, and so on, will be reset.
Everything will be reset.
